COVID-19 Protocol for Opening
COVID-19 Protocol for Opening

August 13, 2021

Dear Trinity Family,

You certainly are aware that COVID protocols have changed for the State of OR.  Here is an official notification.

"Lane County is currently experiencing a sudden and rapid spike in the number of COVID-19 new cases, hospitalizations and currently infectious people. Our community’s current COVID-19 spread and hospitalizations is the highest we’ve seen to date. This is a major concern and the Board of County Commissioners yesterday called upon all community members and businesses to take immediate protective actions. Additionally, today, Governor Brown announced that masks will be required in all indoor public spaces for all persons regardless of vaccination status effective this Friday, August 13."

To date, we have been following the State's orders in response to this COVID crisis.  We want the sanctuary to be a safe place to hear the life changing Word of God.  Therefore, we will follow our previous masking and distancing practices for worship.  Family members may sit together, otherwise space yourselves accordingly using the cross markers over the pews as a guide.  At the end of the service, you will be ushered out from the back to the front.  (Those joining on-line, find the link below.)

Concerning masking,  Dr. Fauci  said early in the pandemic, “The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out [the] virus, which is small enough to pass through the material. It might, however, provide some slight benefit in [keeping] out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you.”  In light of this, we recognize that a few of our members find it difficult to breath with a mask and therefore, may unmask as they desire.

 Blessings in Christ,

Pastor Jim

In order to open, we will follow the following protocols.

According to the Center for Disease Control, anyone feeling ill, or has a persistent sneeze or cough should stay home.  The wearing of masks is required.  We will continue to stream the service for those who feel more comfortable staying home.  (Please bear with the camera in front of the altar until we purchase one for the loft.)

If you arrive early, fellowshipping is encouraged in the front parking lot area.  Please minimize fellowshipping in the narthex so that we don’t clog it.

You will be asked to sanitize your hands at the front door.  Please refrain from touching items/furnishings unnecessarily.

Please place your offering in the plate as you enter the narthex and grab a bulletin.

An usher will direct you to be seated.

Seating Instructions

  • An X above the pew rack will be in front of a place to sit.
  • Starting with the front pew, family units will be seated one seat in from the center and side aisles.
  • In the next row a family unit will be seated in the middle of the pew.  Such an arrangement will continue from front to back.  Please understand that you MAY not be able to sit in your normal pew.
  • We estimate that this seating arrangement will accommodate 60 worshippers.
  • Four family units may sit upstairs.
  • Some may sit in the narthex as needed, following the 6’ rule.

(In the case of an overflow crowd, we are trying to stream the service into the fellowship hall.)

Please send me any prayer requests by 9 a.m. Sunday morning.  pastorjim@tlccg.com

Fans will remain on to foster good ventilation.

When communion is offered, it will be done by continuous communion.

At the end of the service, you will be ushered out from the back to the front.  Please take time to fellowship in the front parking lot area.

Let us know if you feel sick later that week.

If you have any questions or recommendations, please let me know.  We want everyone to feel safe in either coming or zooming the service at home.
